What I learned today  
Atlantica (or whatever they call their planet on SGA) is a a pelagic planet i.e. a world covered mostly or entirely by oceans. Apparently, that is an established sci-fi term.

Hadn't heard of that before but it's interesting there's a term - whats the root of the word though?

I guess it's the Ancient Greek word 'pelagos' meaning 'sea' :-)
