Everybody's bored
I have come to the conclusion that boredom is the root of all evil *nods*

At least as far as my housemates are concerned ;-) Doesn't anyone know what to do with themselves in the weekend so that they have to think up activities that get everyone else busy!?

Today was a crap day for the most part, so to make everyone else's better, here is some music:

I didn't get any fanfic written today and only studied for maybe 90 minutes in the afternoon. Then, when I wanted to lie down and watch soccer tonight, the reception died on me (and is still dead).

High point of the day: I did make an awesome chocolate-avocado pudding. I saw a similar recipe using goji berries. Can't wait to see how that turns out.

I'm usually the last one to know anything...
Apparently there is now Safari for windows?! Anyone tried it? I have to admit that it looks pretty cool and it seems to be indeed loading pages pretty fast. I normally use Opera, but some of the pages I use more often don't work with it (and my lj-layout doesn't look right with it either)

Also, I think I'm in love with Urban Gothic. Random, I know.

You know, piracy is bad for you (and for your books)!
At least according to what I read today:

on the back of the official TCF guide it says: Danger - Le photocopillage tue le livre
(for those who haven't taken French in school, it means Danger - Photocopying kills the book.

and on one of my Yoga DVDs, it says that piracy is seriously bad karma

You know what is annoying...
Living with three people who play the piano and practise for an hours each every day.

Getting paid quarterly and still not having been paid for the last quarter of 2007.

Needing a refill when having no money to pay for the meds.

Needing to buy course books when having no money to pay for them.

But well, life could be worse at the moment.

Special Services Lifestyle Gadgets (aka crystail soil)
The crystal soil arrived today. Finally. The reason it took so long was because customs had it in their evil clutches. And that was probably because the guy I ebay-ed this from put 'Special Services Lifestyle Gadgets' as the content on the customs declaration *shakes head*

What TV I have been watching this season (and some TV I haven't been watching)
Normally, that's reserved for my fannish journal, but since I spend considerable time watching TV, I figured it's good for this one as well :-)

Opinions in brief - not many actual spoilers. )

There probably is more, but I can't think of anything right now.

Last Week
I definitely over-exerted myself last week. I'm feeling restless like I rarely do these days and when I do, it's usually because I did too much over a period of several days. I did write about 5000 words per day the last four days, just to finish my latest story before the deadline. I have a few more stories in my head, some already sketched out, but after over a month of sustained heavy-duty writing, I think I should let things rest for a few days at least. Maybe finally watch the DW episodes I haven't seen yet. I still haven't seen the last four episodes of series three (of the new series) and there are still quite a few episodes from the first and second doctor I haven't seen yet.

After a hard week, I decided to splurge at orkos and ordered some of my favourite fruit, including pitayas and medjool dates. These particular dates are actually cheaper than at the health food store in town. However you can only buy them by the kilo from Orkos. Still, they keep for quite a while in the fridge and I just love them as a sweet snack :-)

Esseential Question
Where am I going to sleep tonight? My bed is broken (the frame came apart again) and my room is too small to just lay the matress on the floor. I'm getting the bad feeling that I will be sleeping on the couch in the living room tonight. I'm not that tall, but even for me the couch is way too short. Fun times.

TCF - Thingking About It
Thinking about taking the TCF or at least looking into it. When I helped Bro with his applications, I noticed that they all wanted to have language skills back-up by standardized tests like the TOEFL test.

Hence, I'm looking into the TCF. There seem to be test centers in Germany but the links given on the official page lead to all sorts of general cultural centers and langauge schools. I might ask my French teacher tomorrow and see if she knows anything about it or has recs for preparation books. It says that the test doesn't take any extra preparation as it simplly asses your present knowledge of French. It sounds like a useful thing I could do before OU picks up again in 2008.
