What to do, what to do
I really need to plan on how to get back to school in January.

The options are:

  • the bus, which costs the least but it takes 21 hours to get from home to St.Catz and crossing the channel by ferry makes me seasick

  • the train, which costs too much, but is much faster, but having to change trains in both Paris and Ashford isn't fun

  • the plane, is very fast, but expensive plus it's near impossible to get from where I live to the airport without a car

Any advice?

I've got advice - forget about it all and watch WaT! LOL

On a more serious note, sounds like Train is your best bet. Yes it's not fun changing trains but if it saves you time then it's worth it. The extra cost may be a problem but again, maybe you can factor that in some how (or borrow some DM off your family!)

Sorry I can't be of more help!

out of the three... id say train. faster than the bus, and though you have to change trains at least it gets you closer to your destination... right?

Both the train and bus get me pretty much to the same place in London. And from London onward I'll have to take the bus to Oxford in any case. I'm also leaning towards taking the train, especially since the main part of the journey takes place overnight.

train may be more comfortable considering the overnight part!

Okay Plus and minus time

Bus: plus- cheap minus- seasick, long

Train: plus- fast minus- expensive, change over

Plane: plus- fast minus- no car, expensive

(For some reason this always helps me :))
