Still somewhat pissed that canon ruined the premise of my epic. Although it was rather likely, writing fic in a fandom when only having seen half of the 1st season, there is a lot we don't know about the characters. There is something to be said for fandoms with a finite canon such as most books, movies and cancelled shows. I don't really feel like writing the epic now since it's a total AU. I mean I have the first and last part written already and a bit of the second part. The last part isn't postable, it has an unhappy ending and you know it from the first paragraph on that this can only end badly.
Homesick and restless. But I have gotten some work done for the next week and gone over some stuff that wasn't so clear in the lectures. It's not much, but quite good for my standards. The extra effort that I put into the work for today's tutorial paid off, I had the feeling that I knew what was being talked about and I identified both crystal models correctly. Small victory, normally I'm the one asking all the stupid questions, like "where did this second variable suddenly come from?"
Today was finally the last lecture of the five hour long course Light, Waves and Fields which was a basic rundown of Electrostatics, Optics and Magnetism. Like many things here, too much material, too little time. Basically, you have to go over everything with the help of a university level physics book to understand the very conscise handouts. I worked my way through the first lecture so far. With a book that actually explaines the formula dump that is the handout; electrostatics don't seem quite that hard. Must do work in the morning and early afternoon, I usually feel rather good then. It usually goes downhill from dinner on.
