Is there something I'm supposed to do with it to get it to play, like change it to .avi?

You don't need to do anything with it. It is a .divx file, but I don't know if WMplayer plays that format. I watched the file with VCL player and it was fine.
You can download VCL free on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
If that still doesn't work, let me know.

it immediately defaulted to QuickTime, but in VLC it works perfectly, should have tried that first. Thank you. :)
