Ipod RIP  
My attempt to repair my broken ipod utterly failed. Since according to apple it couldn't be repaired anyways I didn't exactly do any more damage, but I'm still a bit upset about it. I'm pretty attached to my electronic toys ;-) The whole repair attempt seriously cut into my writing time, not that I'm so sure anymore as to where my story is actually going. Nowhere - that's my predominant theory at the moment.

The LCD cracked (not the casing though), causing crystals/liquid stuff to leak out. I managed to find a on-line store that carries replacement LCDs for ipods and since I managed to put a new LCD into my beloved laptop a few months, I thought get a take-apart manual and give it a try. I could have had it repaired at the shop were I bought the new LCD, but that would have been rather expensive give that my ipod is pretty old already. I managed to take it apart alright and replace the LCD, but a some ribbon cable connection clip came apart when I tried to put to back together again :-(

Ah shame but understandable since those ribbons are tricky, easy to break.
